Good place to stay. Will stay there again.

Positives: Convenient, clean, friendly staff, and good parking access.

Gold budget hotel nothing fancy, room was crammed and bed way too. Firm for my liking but price was right.

Positives: Staff was friendly, and clean.

Negatives: Beds were very hard and uncomfortable, and room was quite small.

Hotel was located in convenient area. We just needed a hotel for night's rest with breakfast and Internet as we were on a cross country trip. We wanted a clean hotel with comfortable beds.

Positives: Beds

Negatives: No continental breakfast or free WiFi.

Beautiful lobby, nice rooms, restaurant nice but a little pricey. I don't mind paying for underground parking at a hotel, however to park outside in the hotel parking lot for $10.

Positives: Comfortable bed, clean, actually better than I thought it might be.

Negatives: $10. charge to park outside!

Average room, clean, friendly staff, and great price.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Paid $15 for parking.

Hotel was fine. We only spent sleeping time there so we weren't looking for services and amenities.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: The air conditioner did not work well, and we were situated next to the ice machine and vending machines which was noisy.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 11 Sep 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

Conveniently located. Functional setting for business if you remember that any extra services will be charged.

Positives: Conveniently located.

Negatives: Not as friendly environment for family as other hotels in the area.

This hotel is lovely, great rooms, comfy bed and friendly & helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we’ve ever had and the restaurant staff was excellent. Didn’t get to stay long but would definitely go back.

Positives: Clean, comfortable rooms & excellent breakfast buffet!

Negatives: Charging for parking always kind of irks me.

My family and I have stayed a the Holiday Inn Harborview a number of times over the last year and we have always found that it either met our exceeded our expectations.

Positives: Front desk staff are always very friendly, accommodating and professional.

Negatives: Getting out of the parking lot is a bit awkward.

If you are going to Nova Scotia and would like to experience both Halifax and Darmouth this is a good hotel--if you have a car. The rooms are small-- by American standards--it truly is for two people. The breakfast buffet is quite expensive. The hotel is close to the ferry!

Positives: It was a great location--right near the bridge to dowtown Halifax.

Negatives: The rooms are very small--particularly the bathroom, which has the sink outside the bathroom.

Recently (Summer 2010) we stayed for a week long vacation in the Holiday Inn Harbor view in Dartmouth and had a very good experience.

The staff at this hotel are extremely helpful and courteous. Before we even arrived, we had emailed the staff to ask questions and received prompt, informative answers. Later, our incoming flight was extremely delayed, forcing us to arrive at 3 am local time. Upon arriving at the hotel the person behind the desk was happy to see us and very pleasant, particularly given the hour. During our stay staff members gave us directions, restaurant recommendations, advice on the various hotel services, and other helpful information.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is perhaps a bit older, but recent renovations to the lobby, quality furnishings in the rooms, and a great staff more than make up for it. It was a busy hotel during our stay, so there were some coming and going noises at times from the hall. Complimentary newspapers each morning were also a welcome amenity.

The hotel also features a business center with two computers and a printer, providing Internet access. This was a nice feature for us since we do not travel with our personal computer. Use of this facility is free. There is also a restaurant, and an in-ground pool.

The location of this hotel, while not physically in Downtown Halifax is nonetheless extremely convenient. It is located right next to one of the two major bridges to downtown, and locations on that side of the harbor are easily accessed by car. If foot travel is your thing, there is ferry service located a few blocks away. Depending on your driving destination, it may actually be considered an advantage that the hotel is located in Dartmouth rather than Halifax, as some of the major highways leading north are located nearby, and are more easily accessible than if you had to cross the harbor. There is a large amount of parking located directly on site. There are stores, restaurants, and gas stations within easy driving distance.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this hotel for a variety of reasons: good service, a very convenient location, a good view of the harbor and Halifax skyline, and nice rooms. It was also a good value for the money, and compares very favorably with hotels located across the harbor in Halifax.
Positives: Helpful staff, convenient, great price.

The hotel restaurant food did not sit well and there was no option for drought beer. There was not an indoor pool and in my room, there was no wireless internet - these are things I prefer when traveling on business.

Positives: Comfortable bed and sitting spaces.

Negatives: No wireless internet, no pool.

Hotel was clean and staff was great. When I asked for extra towels, a knock on the door in under 5 minutes and they were there. Parking at the hotel when a guest costs 10 dollars per night, this is absurd considering a guest is paying to stay there so the parking should be included.

Positives: Staff was friendly and helpful.

Negatives: They charged 20 dollars to park at the hotel, even though we were guests staying there.

Sound proof in a good location.

Positives: Quiet.

Negatives: Room service food was limited and expensive.

The hotel in general was great. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The bathroom was very small - and the desk space was not convenient for my laptop. Not really a desk actually. Because we had the room across from the elevator, our room was quite noisy.

Positives: Location was convenient to shopping mall.

Negatives: Our room was positioned across from the elevator - it was very noisy.

The hotel was clean and in an ideal location for us. The price was fair, however we wish there had been an indoor swimming pool.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: No indoor swimming pool

The breakfast buffet was a little over priced and we had to pay for the parking BUT other than that it was wonderful. I would stay again.

Positives: Comfort of the bed and pillows was FABULOUS!

Negatives: Had to pay for parking

Good location for either Halifax or Dartmouth. Helpful staff. Only problem was that the patio door leaked a bit then there was a smell in the room for a bit.

Positives: View of the Harbour.

Negatives: Paying for parking.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 12 Aug 2009 rated 6 out of 10.

The hotel was OK but I've stayed in much nicer in the Halifax area through Priceline.

Positives: Very close to MicMac Mall for shopping.

Negatives: The bathroom (shower & toilet) is in a separate room from the sink. The bathroom had a bad smell, like a dirty mop was used to clean it.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 04 Jul 2009 rated 9 out of 10.

Clean and polite staff.

Positives: Easy to get to, and polite staff.

Negatives: Pay for parking & pool outside.

A convenient location with a lovely outdoor pool. We highly recommend the food at the restaurant. Staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were fantastic.

Positives: Excellent staff.

Negatives: Hotel elevator wasn't a always a smooth ride and didn't always completely open.

Arrived well before the posted check-in time, and I was able to check-in early before lunch. A staff member checked late in the afternoon if I had enough towels before she left for the day. Only ate at the restaurant once, and it was good. The staff was extremely friendly, it was a pleasure to stay there, and the property was clean and well kept.

Positives: Breakfast buffet was a surprise, good value at $15.00.

Negatives: Poor location.
