The Meridian At 910 Beach

My wife and I recently stayed at The Meridian for the second time - we had forgotten how truly horrible this place is. The rooms only have beat up plastic mini-blinds, so the room is flooded with light from the street lights all night long. There is no air circulation without the windows being open, but as the hotel is located right under the Burrard Street bridge, the traffic noise is horrendous all night. The staff at the front desk - well, the person who check us in, was pleasant, but the person we dealt with after that was arrogant and rude and completely unhelpful. The beds (both visits) were very uncomfortable, the pillows the cheapest possible - all I can say is that it is one step up from a flop house. I can see this being a good value for families with small children, since kids can sleep anywhere, but even then I wouldn't recommend The Meridian to anyone!

Positives: Hardly anything.

Negatives: Bad air quality, almost non-existent curtains, bad beds, horrible pillows, rude service.

Great location, great staff. Rooms are apartment like. Ours was a small room, so had a bed, a small office space, a small sitting room and a kitchen. You are 5 minutes on foot from Granville Island if you have to wait at all for the Aqua Bus. Great experience.

Positives: Perfect location for access to Granville Island, clean, comfortable, well appointed.

Negatives: The only thing I didn't love was the lobby, felt like a cheap hotel, but wasn't.
