This is an old run down hotel, which isn't close to any place I needed to be. The staff looked sloppy and the hotel hadn't had a face lift in twenty years. I was woken up twice with the police in the hallway addressing two different noise issues. If this was a 1 star I would expect what I paid for but I paid $90.00 US plus taxes for this hole.

Positives: Not much - I was very disappointed.

Negatives: I was woken up twice in the middle of the night with police in the hallway trying to handle drunk patrons.

This hotel was my worst 3-star hotel experience ever. Rooms were very dirty (found razor cover in the bathroom, hair on the towel, unfortunately had to wait a night to report this to cleaning staff because arrived late night and was very tired) Rooms, furniture and the building were old. Carpets and linens were dirty as well.

I would never ever recommend this place to any one. Carpets all over the hotel are extremely disgustingly dirty, all sheets and blankets are torn. I was upgraded to Suite after I complained but that was not better either. I cannot even explain in words how disgusting this place was. I had the worst experience of my life.

It was not the cleanest or newest hotel I've been to. It is kind of dark and has the feel of the olden and not so good days. Everything seemed to be old. The front desk was also dark and old and gray and not so friendly.

Positives: It is close to the mall.

Negatives: It was old, not so clean, felt like I am the last person to use it.

Decent hotel for the price. I wouldn't want to stay here long-term, but for an overnight or weekend stay, it is conveniently located, clean and the staff was nice.

Positives: The location was convenient, and the parking was free.

Negatives: The room just seemed a bit worn and needed to be updated. Room was cold and window was drafty.

Better than expected. After reading other reviews I did not have high expectations. But this hotel is now non smoker. Most of the staff was friendly and helpfully. They had an issue with the pool but brought people right away to fix it on a Saturday.

Positives: Nice location, non smoking and relatively clean.

Negatives: Nothing.

Overall this hotel was great. It met all my expectations and there were absolutely no issues with checking in or out.

Good for those traveling through Ottawa because it is close to highway 41, no walk able access to restaurants and hotel food closed at 10.30 pm.

The hotel was definitely not a 3 star hotel. I do not have issue so much with the hotel. It was too far from airport.

Amazing and helpful staff, free parking is a great bonus, mall across the street makes it all too convenient, and less that 5 minutes from Downtown makes it well worth the stay. Even the cleaning staff is more then helpful!

Positives: Room amenities were perfect for the overnight stay.

Negatives: Not enough towels and supplies for the bathroom.

The Chemo Inn is a convenient place to stay for business travelers. It has no frills but does offer free parking and a safe environment.

Positives: The location was very convenient because I wanted to be near highway 417.

Negatives: The furniture and bed linens were old and tired. Chair at desk was coming apart.

This hotel has nice style, and all the amenities you require on a short trip, it is conveniently located near a shopping centre and with restaurant of every kind within 5 minute drive.

Positives: Nice and quiet comfortable bed, but we had to upgrade to a king size bed.

Negatives: The fact that I had to pay $45 additional for a king size bed.

None of the front desk/management staff encountered smiled, even when eye contact was established. Now, this is a hotel and as such customer service should be the utmost importance. However, I failed to observe it. Mattresses in room definitely needs replacement, if its over their operating budget then they can get it from a garage sale and it would still be better than what they have. A hotel that's designed for business travelers should at least have 1 computer in the lobby for free, in my opinion. This place had the little kiosk which was in bad shape as the keys were not fully operational, I mean there are better ways to increase profits and this is not one of them. Overall, this place is worse than the budget hotels. Just have the lobby impressive isn't going to work.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Chimo. I have stayed here before about 14 years ago. The rooms were clean, but average. They included key amenities like hair dryer, coffee maker, and mini-bar. I particularly liked the safety feature that involved using your key card to use the elevator. I would stay at the Chimo hotel again. It was very economical.

Positives: This hotel was fast and easy to access from a major Ottawa highway.

Negatives: I thought that this hotel's decor was somewhat dated.

We needed a hotel for one night to attend a party. I lived in Ottawa 10 years earlier and thought the Chimo was a pretty decent hotel. I guess they haven't updated during that time. The room and bathroom in particular, was in need of a remodel. The bathroom did not seem clean. We would not take a bath in the tub, only a shower. It was alright for its purpose, but it did not seem like a 3 star hotel. I would give it 2, or maybe 2.5 stars.

Positives: Location near highway.

Negatives: Room overall in need of a remodel, bathroom in particular.

The Chemo is in a good location for those with family or interests in the east end of Ottawa or Orleans, with great access to highway 417 or the Queensway. A major shopping center is across the street. Free parking is a plus. However, the beds were well worn and uncomfortable and need to be upgraded. Also the carpets in my room were soiled. Nothing here to get excited about.

The bed is 10+the bathroom is around 8 (the toilet wasn't flush well, at home everything works perfect) the carpet was with some spots of dirt luckily I had the flippers. TV was ok liked the free internet and free parking didnt had the guts to use the pool. Which was free as well because of the poor ventilation system the air inside was really bad. We had to open the door to refresh the air. Also the bathroom doesn't has any fan/ ventilator like at home so after we had the shower we had to leave the room door open and bathroom door. As well overall. This hotel is more like 2.5 stars.

Positives: Free internet, free parking.

Negatives: The room didnt had an fresh air, the air was bad and the a/c or heater fan was noisy and beside the bed. No windows to refresh the air.

I read a lot of negative reviews about this hotel. It isn't within walking distance to downtown, but it's still very well located across from a big mall and near lots of chain restaurants. It's only a short drive to downtown so that didn't bother me too much. The best however, is the free wireless internet access, this is something you don't see anywhere really. Overall, a good experience for the money
