Broadwater is central for travel throughout Cape Breton Island. A short, 10-minute drive in either direction will put you on the Cabot Trail. Enter Cape Breton Highlands National Park and you'll find one of the most spectacular drives in the world. And if you keep a sharp eye out as you drive, you'll probably see some of the abundant wildlife which calls the National Park home: moose, deer, bald eagles, whales, and trout.

There are also lots of well-maintained hiking trails for the more adventurous.

From Broadwater, you can strike out for other Cape Breton destinations:

2 minutes to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum
20 minutes to Bird Island Tours
40 minutes to Highland Village
60 minutes to whale watching
80 minutes to Fortress Louisbourg

A leisurely stroll along the bay (1 mile) brings you to the center of the Village of Baddeck.
