Very clean hotel despite being under renovation. Very friendly and helpful staff. Paid parking was convenient and affordable. Tim Horton's on the ground floor was open 24 hours. Short walk to sights and scenes.

Positives: Great location for city center and parliamentary building access.

Negatives: Small bathroom.

Hotel was close to attractions, but was undergoing significant renovations when we were there. Had to request a different room due to loud construction noises upon arrival. was told room had free WiFi, but none of my devices could pick up the signal. Hotel staff did not inform us that parking was free on the roads surrounding the hotel, and<BR/>we ended up paying for parking that could have been free.

Positives: Proximity to attractions Downtown (parliament, etc.)

Negatives: Under going significant renovations, loud construction noises, small rooms, rooms that were not renovated.

Nicer hotel, good staff. Should have a hot tub and free Internet for the price. Parking is paid too, but that is standard for much of the area.

Positives: Friendly staff.

Negatives: Nickel and dime you. No Internet, parking. They charge for everything! No hot tub, and cold pool.

There is not enough space to tell you how irritated, I am about our experience and I do not have the time frankly.

Positives: Not a thing.

Negatives: They even wanted to charge $9.00 per day for Internet. Most hotels in Ottawa have free access. In out charges for my car. Ridiculous.

Nice, quiet and comfortable hotel in a central location. Great location and service. Major renovation will occur in Spring 2011. Appreciated the coffee maker and small fridge.

Positives: Rooms are quiet and very well appointed with small fridge, electronic thermostat and contemporary decor.

Negatives: Some updating is necessary, a reno will occur in Spring 2011. In the meantime, standards are still more than acceptable.

Location is west of downtown but close enough to walk. Hotel is clean but showing signs of wear and tear. Restaurant was very weak visually but the food was good. Upgraded for nominal fee to king size and the room was comfortable but as stated in general it could use a face lift to warrant a 3.5 star.

Positives: Excellent front desk, clean surrondings, good location.

Negatives: Could use a face lift but clean.

This hotel comes off as being pretentious and has no basis for being so. The entrance is confusing, the lobby is cold, non-welcoming. The hotel is dirty, wall paper and paint tattered, worn, room furnishings spartan, front desk impersonal and non-caring. Why is it that the upscale hotels of the major chains do not offer free Internet in the rooms. Not only that, for a busy hotel, there were only 3 PC's in the lobby for guests to use, 2 of them not working, guests standing in line to use them. I would not recommend this hotel. There are plenty of others in Ottawa I have stayed at that are much nicer.

Positives: Bartender in lounge excellent.

Negatives: For a so called upscale hotel, there was no free Internet in rooms and only 3 PC's in lobby, 2 did not work.

Great room for Priceline cost. Friendly accommodating front desk.

Positives: Location friendly front desk.

Negatives: Had to call to get our room cleaned at 8 pm at night. We did inform at noon we were leaving but got forgotten!

Check in was fine, no surprises, hallways, elevators, room were a bit worn and tatty. Good location for touring, business.

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: Tired looking facility, lots of scuffed walls, miniature bathroom and needs to be updated.

Peeling wallpaper, missing pictures, dented furniture and lamps, no what you would expect from a 2-star hotel, let alone one advertising itself a a 4-star hotel. Nice enough staff and okay facilities, but based on the quality of our room, we got the impression that the Crown Plaza is well on it's way to being a seedy rooming house.

Positives: Excellent central location.

Negatives: Dated, badly maintained room.

Overall, the hotel was good value and in an excellent location. It was difficult to use the computers because a few guests spent long periods of time on them and there was no sign posted stating limits. I took my five year old granddaughter along with me and the pool was cold and to deep for her to wade at one end.

Positives: Good location.

Negatives: Pool was very cold and too deep for young children.

It is an OK hotel, nothing spectacular, I'm not likely to select it again since there is a Marriott right around the corner.

Positives: Good location downtown.

Negatives: Not a 3.5 star facility, more like a 3 star hotel.

Very nice stay. Everything was as expected for this star level.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Nothing

Hotel is really outdated and needs renovations. However, the staff and their friendliness made the trip. They should include free internet in the rooms rather than charging...having free internet available in the lobby is not convenient when we are waiting for work emails from far East in the middle of the night.

Positives: Friendly staff. Well situated near amenities and sights.

Negatives: The rooms are below standard. Really need an upgrade. Until they have renovated this hotel should be 3 star rating.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 14 May 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

Nice decor, but not great ambiance. Staff need to be friendly, and forthcoming giving info about services, sites. etc. to guests.

Positives: Availability of internet, fax, photocopier.

Negatives: No room-service on Sunday 6:00 pm - kitchen closed early. Bathroom not very clean,

The front entranceway of this hotel was nice and was inviting. However, the rooms were outdated and needed a serious upgrade. The hallways were freezing on our first night but the rooms were warm. The second night, when it was snowing outside, the hallways were warm but the rooms were freezing and even with the thermostat cranked, there was no heat in the room which made for an unpleasant sleep. The toilet didn't flush unless you held down the lever for 1 minute and the shower dripped constantly.

Positives: It was relatively close to all amenities if you were willing to walk 5-6 blocks.

Negatives: Poor heating, bathroom had plumbing issues, needed an upgrade.

The hotel was pretty much what i expected for the star rating. Clean and in a good location.

Positives: Good location, reasonably priced.

Negatives: The room decor was very standard, not very impressed for a 3 star

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 02 Apr 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

It definitely needs renovation. The parking is very expensive. The TV must be 15 years old. Not impressed

Positives: Location

Negatives: Lamps not working. Fridge and micro not free.

Door key mechanism was broke, said they would have someone fix it and assured us our belongings were fine left in the room. Came back at 1 am to find that card key didn't work, but that didn't matter because the door could just be pushed open, and lock didn't work. Had to use chain lock on door. Then by about 8:15am next morning maid staff was already trying to come in the room and knocking (during the door fiasco, hadn't thought to put out the do not disturb hanger the night before).

Positives: Location to where we needed to go was decent.

Negatives: Had to leave our room unlocked.

This hotel does need an overhaul if it wishes to be known as a business class hotel. However, our stay was very pleasant, and the room rate was great. The staff was amazing.

Positives: The staff!

Negatives: It was a bit run down and the children's play area was under renovation.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 21 Oct 2009 rated 5 out of 10.

The hotel was clean, however, we were disappointed to find that we only had one bed. We ordered a cot, but it was lumpy and uncomfortable. We were disappointed to find that we had to pay for parking.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: No parking!

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 15 Oct 2009 rated 4 out of 10.

Well, with in and out parking privilege for $21 plus tax you might as well stay outside the down town core. The low speed Internet costs $9.95 plus tax a day and if you want normal high speed connection $19.95 a day.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Non smoking room given smelt like a smoke chamber.

This hotel can not operate both heating and cooling system simultaneously. They were operating cooling system when we were there and we spent at 8 centigrade temperature night over there without heating! Both my wife and I caught cold. I complained to staff and manager but they could not do anything. I just wasted my money.

Positives: Friendly manager.

Negatives: No heating system in night, freezing room.

We only stayed one night at this hotel and were not really able to take advantage of the amenities that the hotel offered. However my over all experience was good and I would recommend this hotel to someone else or stay there again if I go to Ottawa in the future. We really had a lot of help from the doorman. Very nice and even found us a place to eat at 10:00.

Positives: I liked the location and friendly staff of this hotel.

Negatives: Our booking was changed and we had one of the members of our party sleep on a cot as an extra bed was not available.

We stayed for 6 nights in 4 different hotels located in downtowns of Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto within the price range. I traveled with my wife and 15 years old son, so we want primarily a large room ideally with 2 queen-size beds. And we want to stay in the best part of the downtowns in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. We stayed Le Cantlie Suite Hotel and Day Inn in Montreal Crowne Plaza in Ottawa, and Shreaton in Toronto.

Positives: The location is excellent for visiting the core attractions of the city.

Negatives: Internet is not included in the reservation that I made. But the computer is available in the lobby.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 21 Aug 2009 rated 5 out of 10.

This hotel is old, and should be renovated. The room size was small. Television and entertainment system outdated.

Positives: Location was close to tourist attractions

Negatives: Did not have free internet access.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 04 Aug 2009 rated 3 out of 10.

My only option for charging my laptop in my room was in the bathroom. Not an acceptable option for business travelers. Cardboard sign with marker writing indicated that other outlet was "pending repair". Asked about getting mini-fridge, and was told that they would "see what they could do". What they did was nothing, and never bothered to tell me that they wouldn't. Parking overpriced.

Positives: alright location

Negatives: Dated, and many thing in disrepair
