Return to a gracious period in Niagara's history, when the leading families of St. Catharines resided in stately homes along Yates Street and the banks of the original Welland Canal. Built in 1905 in the Queen Anne style, Springbank House occupies the site of an earlier city landmark, the Springbank Hotel and Spa (and later, Bishop Ridley College). In her family for over 70 years, previous owner Kathy Taylor and her husband Tim purchased and restored the 100-year-old residence and renamed it Springbank House.

Today, the magnificent wisteria vine and magnolia tree, planted over 90 years ago, frame the picture-perfect front porch and perennial garden. Inside the massive oak front door, the house unfolds into a variety of very special spaces-formal living and dining rooms, conservatory, inglenook and leather-panelled library. Upstairs, the bedrooms have been updated to include a private bathroom for each suite. The furnishings of Springbank House include period pieces from generations of Canadian & European families.

All guests have access to common areas at Springbank, including the formal dining room & living room, veranda, pool, conservatory and The Library. The house is fully air-conditioned and smoking is permitted only on the verandah.

Private fine dining is offered at Springbank House. Executive Chef, Stefan prepares a 4-course gourmet fare to suit the individual guest. We ask that you purchase the wine of your choice at nearby wine stores, since we do not hold a liquor license.
