My family stayed at The Rusty Anchor in Aug/07. We have 2 children ages 11 & 12. It is a very secluded area and because of this I was worried that the kids would easily run out of things to do. I WAS WRONG. We had a great family vacation. The Rusty Anchor is everything you want in a cottage and more. Beautifully decorated, private, washer, dryer, dishwasher, bbq, fire pit, therapeutic bath etc... Whether your a family and want a great, peaceful, safe place to stay or you just need a peaceful, relaxing, quiet vacation. This is the place. The kids had a great time catching crabs and mussels on the beach (we had the mussels for dinner one night). They had baths in the therapeutic tub every evening. We walked along the beach to Point Prim lighthouse. We flew kites on the beach. We watched movies on the Plasma T.V. on a rainy night. We had heard that there is a friendly fox that comes around in the evenings. We waited all week to see him and on our second last night he finally came. He was afraid at first but when we fed him dog biscuits (which we found in the cupboard) he was very happy. Charlottetown is only a 20 min drive. We went to SandLand, we bought crab legs one day at Lobster on the Wharf and took them back to the cottage to cook for dinner. We went to Cavendish Beach for a day. We went to Singing Sands Beach one day where the kids jumped off of the pier into the water. We went horseback riding in Brudenell National Park. It was a much needed family vacation. Ross and Ivy are wonderful people who have taken a lot of time building this Chalet and decorating it to perfection. We would go back there any day.
