I have worked and lived in Bridgewater area for many years and I was to suprise my girlfriend with a romantic evening. I have heard that this hotel changed hands and that major upgrades were done and people talked on how great the place has becomed and the greatness of the food quality.

So I reserved the Romantic Evening there. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a very nice and knowledgeable front desk clerk. Our room was very inviting, wood flooring, very clean and sparkled. We decided to take a small swim or a dip in the hot tub. I realized that the spa area was totally renovated. It looked very inviting, brand new pool, freshly painted walls, the hot tub and the sauna was a very nice experience.

Upon entering the dinning room, it was full and abuzz. I smelled the beautiful aroma, I noticed that it was totally renovated and looked very nice, I was amazed. It was well decorated for Valentine's Day, very nice. There were 3 waitresses that were caring the very busy night. Our waitress was very friendly and clean, the service was impeccable and our table was well decorated and clean. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the steak dinner and my wife had the lobster dinner. Not only was our food experience of a high degree, I noticed that all around us agreed and complemented on the food.

I asked the staff that the hotel really has changed since the last time we were in. I was told that the hotel changed hands (which I knew before hand)and the new owners were absolutley diligent in caring for the hotel, its staff and their customers. They brought in numerous upgrades, one of which was a full spa salon. She received a full manicure, pedicure and body massage. She was so relaxed and thrilled!

I must say that personally ours, like many others that we observed, had the time of our lives! The room rate was very reasonable (cheapest in town), the food was out of this world and extras were bonuses! An evening that we would never forget. I would return here anytime, not simply for special occassions.

I believe in the adage "That the customer is always right"- TO A CERTAIN POINT! If the complaint is legitimate, great. But when the truth is stretched and being unreasonable then the complaint is going in a gray area, that is totally WRONG and the customer is therefore WRONG.

It is so shameful that there are those that enjoy to complain. They make a point to complain to get some kind of satisfaction! They would stay and eat, THEN later they complain!! If I was not happy, I would complain immediately and expect proper resolution I WOULD NOT STAY THE NIGHT, then complain, THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! If not I would leave. But I would not eat my dinner and then say the steak was tough or the room was dirty, stay the night and complain the next day for a refund!

Again like many, our experinece at the Bridgewater Hotel was It is so shameful that there are those that stay, eat and pay, THEN they complain!! If I was not happy, I would complain and expect proper resolution. If not I would leave. But I would not eat my dinner and then say the steak was tough!

Again, our experience, like others, at the "new" Bridgewater Hotel was uplifting, enriching, outstanding, very immpressive, terrific and very memorable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

This was a dive from the opening of the door.Staff very poorly trained, very rude and did not care how they acted. The rooms were out of 1950 and cobwebs aplenty. We had to move to another as the toilet overflowed upon first flush and were not given an apology or any acknowledgement. The rugs were not cleaned in weeks as by checkout the next day there was no cleaning staff at all.The front desk staff has no idea whom payed their salary as they looked upon customers as an inconvenience.
This place deserves to be really shut down as I would not recommend it to a blind person as they would have fault with it.

Positives: None.Oh wait,they had cable.

Negatives: 1.Toilet overflowed
2.Carpets filthy
3.Cobwebs
4.Dust everywhere
5.Front desk staff rude, unintelligent and ignorant
6.Air conditioner would be louder than a 747

upon arrival I was informed that payment was required before keys were given that should have been my first clue that this was not going to be a pleasant stay!!When I questioned why payment was required at arrival I was told that this is standard procedure. I have never stayed anywhere where payment was required on arrival.
Front desk staff not helpful at all borderline rude...rooms were cold enough that ice would have no problem staying frozen!! Entering the room only brought more disgust, carpets very dirty, worn and heavily stained. Bathrooms very small and toilet was dirty...ok it's time to call front desk. When they came and had a look at the dirty toilet I was told it would be cleaned. After returning from an outing 5 hours later yup that's right toilet still dirty!!!

My son then wants to take a shower and comes out with what looks to be a clean towel, but nope it has dried blood stained on it and it's not a washed stained towel it is crusty dried blood!!!! Ok I call front desk with my concerns AGAIN but am told they didn't think the bathroom was that big of a deal her comment was "it wasn't that dirty".
In the morning opening curtains revealed even more issues....molding widows with moldy popsicle sticks on it so when was the last time housekeeping was actually in this room to clean.

Upon check out and the list of concerns I am told there is nothing they can do and to email the owner!! After all what do they care they already had my money at arrival Did I mention that this place cost$92.00 a night

Would not recommend this place and would NEVER stay again!!

Negatives: dirty, dated rooms with numerous problems and unfriendly and not so helpful front desk staff. Electrical outlets in bathroom not working and very small bathrooms
