I've stayed in Ho Jo back in 1999 and nothing has change. OK for one day stay. Hallways are still dark and the pillows and the bed sheets are cheap. T.V. looked like it was from 1990 and when I change the channel, there was a load click. This hotel definitely needs to be renovated.

Positives: Free breakfast.

Negatives: TV.

Clean and a rather unassuming hotel for such a posh location. The morning clerk needs some etiquette training in dealing with customers.

Positives: Clean and location close to U of T.

Negatives: I asked for a receipt in the AM but did not get it.

Based on location they should look into renovating slightly or even give a fresh paint job, upgrade TV stations, upgrade electrical in bathrooms and do not have bed posts that are so high you can't even watch TV!

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Can't open windows so not good air quality. Fans don't work in bathrooms either.

The hotel was great when we first arrived, staff was friendly and helpful. The parking is in relatively near the hotel, but very expensive. There were no ice dispensers working which was annoying. We went out to a club and when we came back to the hotel the kitchen staff was making croissants and offered us some, then security called and said we stole croissants and was going to evict us. I would not go back to this hotel.

Positives: The location was great.

Negatives: Parking not included and expensive, hotel staff harassed us and accused us of stealing.

Great hotel for someone on a budget who wants to stay right Downtown for a few nights. Wouldn't recommend for a long trip, just one or two nights. Cheapest hotel by far compared to others on the same street, but would have like to see a little more quality in the linens, furnishings, TV, etc. Overall, good hotel with friendly staff.

Positives: Right in Downtown Toronto, low price.

Negatives: Rooms could have been a bit nicer quality.

I would stay here again. The internet was free wireless and easy to access. It was in a great location for my purposes. Staff was friendly and a simple but good continental breakfast included.

Positives: Free wireless internet. The location and they did have some parking available.

Negatives: The bed was a bit small and soft, sheets slipped off in night.

Smaller low cost hotel in expensive part of town, about 5 miles from downtown Toronto. Plenty of cabs and great subway train station 3 short blocks away. Yorkville section is an upscale section of Toronto, lots of bars and restaurants in area. There is a shopping mall next door to hotel with a Whole Foods inside as well as an upscale eatery and bar. The mall is small and has mostly for upscale shoppers reflecting the neighborhoods economics. There is a university down the street as well as a couple of museums in the area. The Hotel is reasonably price option to the more expensive downtown hotels and is in a great neighborhood, only drawback is that the rooms were small and outdated.

Positives: Short cab drive from downtown, close to public transportation and shopping.

Negatives: Too close to street, no restaurant, no free parking.

The room was surprisingly nice, the bed comfortable with good sheets and pillows. The complimentary coffee and muffins in the morning was a bonus. I will definitely stay here again the next time I¿m in Toronto.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: No bar or restaurant.

Excellent location. There was adequate parking, at a reasonable additional charge and I felt very safe. However, attention to detail in the area of cleanliness was lacking. The staff was efficient but not overly friendly or helpful. The decor was a bit outdated but for the price, that was to be expected. Had the room been clean, I would have been satisfied with my stay ( I did leave a note for the chambermaid).

Positives: Excellent location.

Negatives: The cleanliness of the room was not up to standards. I do not expect to find debris on the carpet.
