The Waring House, Picton, Ontario
Nestled in the centre of one of Ontario's loveliest rural areas, The Waring House Restaurant and Inn offers the discriminating traveler an opportunity to taste the hospitality and charm of an elegant Ontario home of the 1860's. Waring House is a Resturant, Inn, Conference Center and Cooking School.
The Inn is comprised of two historic properties situated side by side at Waring's Corners, the crossroad of Highway 33 (The Loyalist Parkway) and County Road 1 (Scoharie Road).
Decorated with Prince Edward County memorabilia and domestic antiques of the era, The Waring House invites visitors to relax and experience the pleasures of a time gone by. The beauty of yesteryear is juxtaposed with the comforts and amenities of today.
The setting of the Inn features a putting green, lovely gardens and a lawn for croquet, badminton, bocce ball and horseshoes.
The main house features four charming guest rooms, the beautiful Garden Dining Room overlooking the gardens and the historic Prince Edward dining room complete with fireplace. A central sitting room is available for relaxation, before dinner drinks, or after dinner coffee. Patio dining is available in season for both the Pub and Dining Room.
The House Next Door, part of which is at least as old as The Waring House, has been converted into twelve beautiful guest rooms.
All facilities at the Inn are air conditioned. All guest rooms feature private bath, cable TV and telephone. Some rooms have a garden view patio, fireplace and air jet tub.
