The Markland Coastal Resort, Dingwall, Nova Scotia

The Markland Resort is located in the village of Dingwall at the top of Cape Breton Island at about the mid point on the Cabot Trail. The Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, is renowned for its outstanding beauty and friendly, relaxed, and genuine hospitality. Cape Breton offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in North America. The spectacular touring route, the Cabot Trail, contours the large northern peninsula. Sitings of whales, eagles and moose are common in the highlands where the Cape Breton Highlands National Park provides tourists with many hiking trails, look-off views and interpretive assistance.

The Markland is a small and beautiful cottage resort in the Cape Breton highlands . The Markland about an hour from Cheticamp and the entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, is a perfect spot from which to explore the park. It is a perfect spot, period. Our 70 acre property with a sandy ocean beach to the east, pristine lake to the south, and boreal forest to the north is a choice spot for nature lovers.

Cape Breton Island was named one of the four most beautiful islands in the world by Conde Nast Traveller (Dec/94). It is located at the northeast tip of Nova Scotia, Canada.

Peacefulness surrounds the Markland Resort. The sound of waves will be heard in the distance.. The accommodations are simple, comfortable and understated but in keeping with the setting.

The rooms, in four buildings with three units each, have tongue-and-groove panelled walls, high ceilings with fan, a sitting area with queen size sofa bed, a queen size bed, and a picture window overlooking the water. The one and two bedroom cabins are similarly furnished, but with cathedral ceilings and a full kitchen with a microwave and stove. The two bedroom cabins have doubles instead of queen size beds.
