The hotel is a solid 4 star hotel that has appears to have had a current upgrade to the interior and rooms. Some bath fixtures could be updated or improved but that is the only negative about the place itself. Sound travel is non existent (or I was the only person there for 3 days). The only negative for me was the location - it is at the bottom of a long hill. Most activities central to the city are 10 minute walk up the long hill.
Positives: The cleanliness and updated rooms - as well the current lobby/public area.
Negatives: The location is not good as it is a good walk from the centre of most activities.

Great hotel. Lots of cheap flat rate parking in the area-take your time to look around.
Positives: There was TV and the radio.
Negatives: View from the window.

Great hotel in a perfect location to Montreal’s old quarter. Everything was as per a 5 star hotel. However, the only negative element was having to pay for internet access, which I believe should be included in the rate for a hotel of this class.
Positives: Location and ambiance.
Negatives: Having to pay for internet access.

The room was renovated and clean, the bathroom spacious, the staff polite. The hotel, however, charges for everything unlike other hotels in Montreal. Coffee, tea and water in the room are very expensive. We needed a small fridge for our son's medication and moved items in the mini-bar to make room and were charged as if we had taken many items from the mini-bar. They corrected the bill willingly and said it has happened before. You feel like there is always a cash grab. The pool is not for young children as it has a depth of 4 feet, 6 inches throughout.
Positives: Clean rooms, polite staff.
Negatives: They charge for everything. Not child friendly.

We were impressed with the tastefully decorated rooms and comfortable beds. We were able to walk to most sites we wanted to see. The concierge outlined a sightseeing walk which included a wonderful restaurant for lunch which we would never have found otherwise. We were able to experience the sites from his recommendations. The only two things we are surprised at is that the hotel doesn't include internet wireless as part of their amenities and room service seems to be particularly expensive with comparable hotels. Overall, our stay was pleasant and we would recommend the hotel to others.
Positives: The rooms were tastefully decorated, beds very comfy, great view, concierge extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Negatives: Rowdy guests next door till 5 a.m. negatively affected our stay, however, security dealt with it when called.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The room was beautiful with a separate bath and shower. The bed was a large, comfortable pillow, top mattress, and the room had a large flat screen TV. A large atrium adjoined the lobby for indoor shopping and getting to the Metro. There was a cozy Bistro near the lobby for a romantic late night.
Positives: The ambiance was terrific!
Negatives: The parking garage was difficult to find at first.

The location of this hotel is perfect. Close to shopping, close to Old Montreal, everything pretty much in walking distance. The room was very comfortable and clean but there was so much construction in the lobby I ended up waiting for a very long time to check out because there was no order in how people queued for check-in and check-out. There wasn't free wi-fi (shocking for this star level and in 2009) but otherwise I enjoyed my stay.
Positives: The room was clean and extremely comfortable.
Negatives: Tons of construction in and around the lobby and no free wireless.

The hotel was undergoing major renovations and was a bit inconvenient but we only stayed one night so not a big deal.
Positives: Great rooms convenient location.
Negatives: Under renovations, make shift lobby.

Great hotel, but parking prices are very high with no in and out. Hotel was under construction which was not clear when booked. I would go again after renovations are complete.
Positives: Rooms were well appointed. Nicely decorated, great view.
Negatives: Lobby was under construction. Very difficult to find from underground parking which was $19 / day with no in and out privileges.

The InterCon is a very nice hotel, and even better after the renovations. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. The room amenities included an iPod docking stereo, 40+" flat screen TV, safe and mini-bar. The only issues were the mini-bar auto-charges the room if an item is moved, and the wireless was so bad that I plugged in the cable.
Positives: The renovated rooms are very nice & high tech.
Negatives: The hotel lobby, front desk and common areas are still under construction.

Well situated near old Montreal but due to renovations front desk service poor and noisy.
Positives: The room was spacious and clean.
Negatives: The lobby and public areas were under renovation so inaccessible easily and then it was make shift with desks in a front room.

The room was beautiful the employee. We dealt with on check in Oliver professional, helpful and enthusiastic. However we wanted old Montreal and this was more of the business district, difficulty finding reception but they were under construction.
Positives: The room was spacious, beautiful, my children loved it.
Negatives: Pool as a lap pool therefore did not seem suitable to take my children.

Intercontinental is wonderful hotel, I have now stayed here 3 times. Hotel is going through major remodeling that should be complete July 2009. Remodeled rooms are fantastic and once lobby is done I am sure it will be good to.
Positives: Location and rooms.
Negatives: Hotel is being remodeled.

Hotel is upscale and well maintained. A solid choice although it was necessary to switch elevators and pass through check-in/out area to access room presumably due to renovations.
Positives: High end, modern.
Negatives: Couldn't provide early check-in, was under renovation, would have preferred 2 beds.

We were unfortunately very disappointed with the Intercontinental Montreal. The hotel was a construction site and everything in and near the hotel was closed. It felt like a ghost site. Restaurants and shops in the hotel/plaza where the hotel was located was very empty. Not a good place to put visitors. The hotel is under renovation and that guests will be going through large hallways with cardboard walls.
Positives: The room was large.
Negatives: It was a construction site.
