Overlooking the Northumberland Straite in Eastern Cape Breton, Inverness offers some spectacular views from the sandy beaches or from atop the towering cliffs. Settled by Scots in 1803, Inverness is now the largest community on the Ceilidh Trail. The Inverness Gathering, a week long celebration of music, culture and art takes place in late July culminating in the Broad Cove Scottish Concert. The Miners Museum relates through artifacts and history the social, economic and cultural background of the area.
