Elgin is contained in Rideau Lakes - a township located within Leeds and Grenville County in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The township was incorporated on January 1, 1998 by amalgamating the former townships of North Crosby, South Crosby, Bastard, South Burgess and South Elmsley with the village of Newboro.

Sand Lake Campground
We are situated 30 minutes north of Kingston and 1.5 hours south of Ottawa on Powells Bay providing a spectacular view of the 2,046 acre Sand Lake. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of our excellent fishing, sandy beach, boat rentals, playground, horseshoe pit and games room. A ten minute boat ride takes you to Sand Lake Marine, either Jones Falls or Davis Locks, both part of the Rideau .....
